“America at a Crossroads” offers insight into the causes of the nation’s political divisions in a Tuesday prime-time PBS program.
The show worked with Knology, a social science research institute, to gather feedback from experts, professionals and formerly incarcerated people themselves.
Yang succeeds Geoff Bennett, who left the program to co-anchor “PBS NewsHour.”
The co-anchors start in their roles Jan. 2.

The weekday “NewsHour” and its weekend offshoot, which launched in 2013, will be consolidated under WETA in Washington, D.C., by next year.
“The misery from a local perspective continues even after some of the national media has left. But the unique thing with The Communities Initiative is we’re still here. We’re still recording.”
Alcindor plans to maintain the show’s traditions while thinking of ways it can speak “to a new generation of people.”
The “NewsHour” correspondent crouched behind a barrier and continued reporting as police confronted rioters near the balcony of the House chamber.
Alcindor is the first public media reporter and first Black woman to win the White House Correspondents’ Association Aldo Beckman Award, presented annually to a journalist who demonstrates “overall excellence.”
As executive producer, Crystal directed launch of the first hourlong daily news program on U.S. television.
The initiative includes programs from “PBS NewsHour,” “Frontline,” “POV” and “Independent Lens.”
Increase viewing frequency with promotions that reinforce the program’s values of civic discourse and analysis.
“People understand that things aren’t going to look as perfect, but what’s most important is the information,” said WNET President Neal Shapiro.
The goal of the project was “to infuse Instagram with original news reporting created by teens for teens.”
The expansion is part of the show’s push to become an around-the-clock news provider.

Look for more talent from PBS stations on “NewsHour” and a toolkit for distributing up-to-the minute election-night coverage with customized graphics.
NPR and “PBS NewsHour” were among the few national media outlets to share staff diversity data for the report.
