The MJ Bear Fellowships support promising digital journalists under 30.

Named for the late MJ Bear, former v.p. for online at NPR and a founding board member of the Online News Association, the fellowships award young digital journalists with a personal ONA mentor for six months, attendance and recognition at the annual ONA conference and awards banquet Oct. 17–19 in Atlanta, and three years’ membership in ONA. Three fellows were chosen in 2012, including Tricia Fulks, a production assistant on PBS’s Frontline. Application deadline for the fellowship is May 31. More information is available on ONA’s website.
