The annual Race To The Top district-level grant competition, put on by the U.S. Education Department, awards funds to states that develop programs to help students succeed in college and beyond. In the past, public media partners have helped Tennessee, Georgia, Maryland and Massachusetts earn grants, and the Association of Public Television Stations has a guide for how public broadcasters can best get involved this year. Though the due date for the optional Notice of Attempt to Apply has passed, the deadline for the full proposal is Oct. 30, so it’s not too late to get involved.
