Pubcasters can partner with local museums for a shot at a Museums for America grant.

The Institute of Museum and Library Services has stipulated that, while only museums may apply for its grant, a partnership with a public broadcasting station (with an accompanying Partnership Statement Form) has the potential to strengthen an application. Museums must apply in one of three categories: learning experiences, community anchors, and collections stewardship. Public media is especially encouraged to partner with museums applying to the first category by supplying “media, education, teacher training and public programming expertise,” according to the Association of Public Television Stations. The deadline for museums to apply is Jan. 13, 2013.
