NPR’s social-media desk wants some company on Election Night.

Political junkies who are active on social media can apply to spend Election Night (Nov. 6) at NPR headquarters in Washington, D.C., covering the night’s crazed proceedings alongside Andy Carvin and the rest of the organization’s social-media desk. Applicants need not be journalists, but they should have a demonstrable social-media presence on platforms such as Twitter, Tumblr, Reddit and in the blogosphere. Selections will be made on a rolling basis over the next few weeks, and NPR is seeking participants across the political spectrum, according to Carvin’s post announcing the open call.
