NPR’s Local Stories Project seeks more stations for local story push.

Beginning with KPLU in 2011, NPR Digital Services has added 18 stations to its experiment designed to increase exposure for locally reported digital stories. In its next round, the network will be seeking an additional 10–15 stations with at least 5,000 Facebook followers and one digital journalist to be fully dedicated to the project. Selected stations will attend a training boot camp to learn best practices for creating “compelling and shareable stories” and will eventually see their pieces displayed on the NPR.org homepage for greater exposure.

There is no set deadline, but NPR will make selections by May 15 and encourages interested stations to apply as quickly as possible.
