CPB is opening up calls for nominees for the 40th annual award, named after the late Boston philanthropist and broadcaster. Anyone may submit nominations for currently living individuals. Nominees need not be directly associated with public television but should be “active in fostering the medium,” according to the CPB award guidelines. The deadline for nominations is Sept. 10, and CPB will then convene a selection committee to determine the honoree.
