Applications have opened for the next round of Knight Journalism Fellows.

Journalists and journalism entrepreneurs with innovative ideas about where to take the future of the medium can apply for the 2013–14 class of fellows. Winners will relocate to Stanford University, where, according to the Knight Foundation, they will get to “spend 10 months experimenting, testing and creating [the] idea, leveraging the many resources of Stanford University and Silicon Valley — and get paid to do so.” This year’s crop of fellows offer a clue as to the sorts of projects that Knight looks for: most involve digital journalism or data tools, with a strong focus on local reporting initiatives. International applicants must apply by Dec. 15; applicants from within the U.S. have until Jan. 15, 2013.
